چکیده
Abstract A low-cost locally available agricultural waste-based Anchote peel adsorbent was studied to remove the methyl orange (MO) dye from wastewater which created at laboratory conditions. The characterized by Fourier infrared and x-ray powder diffraction spectroscopic techniques. adsorption capacity of proposed investigated using batch method. best performance achieved after careful optimization experimental parameters such as dose (0.4 g), initial concentration (70 mg/L), contact time (140 min), pH solution (8.0), temperature (40 °C), respectively. removal MO water anchote a efficiency 94.47% following pseudo-second-order kinetic model, Freundlich isotherm, chemisorption mechanism, showed heterogeneous surfaces thermodynamically spontaneous. Furthermore, present results reveal that is promising in future for organic dyes other contaminants like toxic heavy metals wastewater.

Agricultural Waste as Adsorbent for Removal of Chromium (VI) from Aqueous Solution
Background & Aims of the Study: Since the chromium (VI) is a toxic, carcinogenic and non-biodegradable element and can accumulate in the tissues, the presence and release of this element through the effluents is associated with dangerous effects on life cycle. Thus, it should be removed from the effluents. In the present study, biosorption of Cr(VI) from aqueous solutio...

Methyl orange is one dye resulted from the textile industry. The aim of this study is to test theadsorption capacity of nickel oxide nanoparticles for removing the methyl orange from aqueoussolution. The parameters studied were the effect of temperature, contact time and initial pH ofsolution. Results indicate that the removal efficiency of nickel oxide nanoparticles increases withincreasing co...
متن کاملRemoval of Basic Blue 159 from Aqueous Solution Using Banana Peel as a Low-Cost Adsorbent
In this paper, the adsorption of Basic Blue159 (BB159) onto banana peel as a low-cost material was studied. At first, the banana peel was sieved. Later, banana peel particles were characterized by field emission scanning electron microscopy (FESEM), energy dispersive x-ray spectroscopy (EDXS) and Fourier Transform Infrared (FTIR) techniques. Batch adsorption experiments were carried out as a fu...
متن کاملRemoval of Methyl Orange Dye from Aqueous Solution by a Low-Cost Activated Carbon Prepared from Mahagoni (Swietenia mahagoni) Bark
This study utilized Swietenia mahagoni bark–a wood processing industry waste, for the preparation of activated carbon, and then investigated for the removal of methyl orange (MO) dye by the Swietenia mahagoni bark activated carbon (SMBAC). The effect of pH (3–10), adsorbent dose (1–30 g/L), initial MO dye concentration (10–100 mg/L), and contact time (1–240 min) were evaluated...
